This is most likely the last couple of days with this hair. I'm going on vacation so I will document what I plan to do with the hair from The Keys. I am enjoying the shorter front of my hair :-)

Always Kinky: Miro Double Strand Twists

I really like the Micro Double Strand twist because you can almost treat it like your own hair. The upkeep is very easy and it keeps people on their toes. As soon as I began twisting my hair the hubby says "You lockin again" with a smile. My mother stated how much younger I look and my friend asked how can she get some like that. I plan on co-washing and moisturizing this style like my hair was loose. But a wash (or swim) and go is almost no fuss! I plan on beginning my trip with these in place :-) Here is my Video on how I rolled them into a Flip (Day 11 and  Day12 of the Project 365)

Nene: "I use all Garnier products: leave in conditioner, moisturizer and shampoo...it works for me!

Here is Day 1 of the 365 Day of pictures Challenge. This is my attempt to get me blogging more often! And showing my hair and styles (Be it good bad or ugly) Feel free to join me! I know it will be a challenge. Enjoy!  

Always Kinky: Coconut Oil

I have begun using Coconut Oil in my moisturizing routine and thought I would share what I have learned in my research. First Coconut oil has many positive benefits one of which is hair care. But it is good to know that it is not a toxic product that can be harmful (only helpful) to my body. The main positive attribute to coconut oil is that it helps repair damaged and dry hair and scalp. It contains Lauric Acid which is an antimicrobial agent that can help heal the scalp and promote healthy hair growth.

I use Coconut Oil mixed in my conditioner or after I have rinsed out the conditioner to help seal in the moisture from the water. The only down side to this product is that it is both saturated and unsaturated (semi-solid at room temperature) which makes application interesting. I add it to my spray bottle with a little conditioner and water and style as needed.

Always Kinky: Long Hair Don’t Care

Clip! Clip! Snip! Snip! So I have had a run in with the scissors but if you know me this part has never bothered me. The first time I cut my hair my Dad was in shock! I just cut it all off because I was tired of having a lot of hair. It has never been about transitioning or anything else it was just more about change. I do think that it is a pure self-esteem boost because people look at you as if you have it all together. Funny how that works ehh? Well last night I went ahead and got rid of about 4 inches of hair I didn't want, leaving about 12 inches of "good" hair. Yet I think I want to go for more. Wish me luck!

Always Kinky: Styles and more Styles

Since I released my tresses from the locs, I have been entirely free to try new styles and shapes with my natural hair. For this reason alone I wouldn't want to relax my hair. I could never deny my freedom to create curls, kinks and fluffy styles. It seems that my hair in this state can be thrown around and (with the help of a bobby pin) made fabulous with a flash. I think the key is that I am confident and comfortable and I don't really care if other people like it or not. Here are a couple of my fun styles so far this summer.
